LIFE AT EDISON BY ME

and it begins.....

so you can pretty much consider me in a bad mood for the next 3 months because I really really really really dislike snow! yes it's fun to watch out the window like i'm doing now.....holy cow it's snowing pretty good. but i just hate when i have to drive, go outside, touch.....pretty much associate in the slightest bit with the snow....well unless i'm on a snowmobile or 4-wheeler driving through it. but still i'm just not a big fan of snow.

so finals are next week........**insert a sarcastic "YAY" for some kind of enthuiasm!** i'm not too stressed about them....i feel prepared for all of them so i think they'll go alright. i just can't believe that this semester is really over already. i guess that it flies by you when you're constantly on the go like i was with school , work, and volleyball, that's better than having the most miserable 16 weeks of the year.

i start my new job in 2 weeks. my very first job relating to what i've studied here for 4, yes i've been here for 4 , years. i guess i'll finally see what those 4 years here has taught me. when i worked at the hospital this summer i felt really well prepared so i'm not really that nervous because i'm going back to where i worked this summer, but now it's full-time and benefits and the whole sha-bang. this is it.....throw me into the real world! now i suppose that i'm going to have to act like an adult now and start paying bills and go to bed at 9:00 pm on saturday nights (just kidding!) but in all seriousness.....i am pretty excited about having my first "real" job and i know that it's a job that i'm really going to enjoy. i like all the people that i work with and i get to help people so i can't wait!

i don't think i have much to update on........i have pretty much most of my christmas shopping finished.....just a gift here or there that i have to get, but other than that i'm good to go! i'm excited about christmas.....pretty much just for the food and getting to see everyone home from school.

December 14th is my last day working here at edison, so i don't know when i'll get to update my blog for you dedicated blog readers of mine.....which i think is about 2, and that might be stretching it a bit, but i'll try to keep it somewhat update on things.

i hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday season!

its alive......its alive!!!

after giving my blog some emergency CPR, I think I can bring it back to life. I know that it's been a long time since I've posted but things have finally settled down. But there still isn't much to write about.

Wednesday morning i wake up to hear some loud bangs outside my window, I look out and there are about 14 hunters in the field all shooting at the same deer as it run by them and I start laughing out loud because after about 20 shots.....the deer was still running and I was cheering for the deer to make it, but something tells me that it didn't because when I left my house one of the hunters were on the road looking at somethign closly and I think it was blood spots to see what way the deer went. But it was a rocky versus goliath fight for the deer and the 14 hunters...I thought it was pretty funny.

<------ since it's the start of the Christmas season I was looking for some funny Christmas cartoons and I came across this one and thought it was funny enough to share. My mom and I are going to go shopping on Sunday for Christmas. I hate doing this because I know what everyone gets and its never any fun nor do I ever have any suprises. But mom said that she's got a lot of things finished already this year so hopefully I won't have to know everything.

Only 2 or so weeks of classes left......*sigh*....that's a relief and take a deep breath everyone we'll get through it!

funny pumpkins

So i got this e-mail from a friend with some funny pumpkins in it.....so i thought i would share a few with ya'll.

<------this one looks like me on some mornings!

<----this one is just funny because of the sign. Almost is like the angry mom is saying, " i put you into this world......and you better believe that i can take you out of it!!!"

<-------i don't think that this one listened to his mom and ate too much candy!

We won our game last night against Sinclair......so that was pretty exciting. Other than that its just the same old same old.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and if you go trick-or-treating make sure to save some candy for me ! :)

fancy swine

<------ A pig in Pearls......nice, i don't think it gets any better than that.

Not too much to update about.....I just saw this picture and thought I should share it with everyone.

A big road trip for volleyball this weekend....we'll be in Cleveland on Friday and Saturday taking on the Cuyahoga Challengers and Lakeland Lakers. If we clench these two victories, then we'll pretty much clench the home court advantage for district playoffs......and if we could pack the gym with fans for that night it will be so flipping awesome!.......yes that's a hint to everyone that reads this....if we do play here for districts it would be nice for everyone and their brothers to be here!

Alright....i have to get ready for practice....but enjoy the swine in pearls =D

So it's been 11 days......

yep 11 days since I've posted. It seems like a lot longer than that. Things have been busy as usual: school, volleyball, work, eat, sleep, homework....ya know all the basics. Volleyball has been going really well. If you haven't checked the athletic blog and read that we just got nationally ranked, 7th to be exact, in division 3. That means that we're the 7th best team in the entire nation in division 3 for volleyball at the junior college level! That's big stuff if you haven't figured that out yet! So that was our exciting news of last week, and we won both of our games this weekend.
something new- as if myspace wasn't addicting enough, I just got facebook so I could keep in touch with all of my friends that don't have myspace....Which surprisingly enough is quite a few.....It's just mostly all my friends that go to major 4 year universities......Which I guess is everyone outside of my friends here at Edison! I absolutely have no clue how to even work the whole facebook thing but it seemed that as soon as I signed up for it I had like 10 new friend requests from old high school friends.....That was pretty cool. So I'm sure that I'll spend a couple of hours trying to figure the whole facebook system out and then I'll be able to use it properly.
I really can't believe that it's October 16th already....It seriously feels like we just started school. That means that I really need to get started on all of the big projects and papers that I have to do for my classes.....bummer : /
well.....I really don't have much to talk about, but since it has been 11 days since I've posted, I just wanted to let the loyal readers of my blog, which is about 2.......not including myself to see if I have comments.......know that I'm still alive.

Does it get any better?

man.....I don't know if today could get any better. I woke up this morning actually not too tired, that's always a plus. I get to school and remember that there's free lunch in the courtyard....By the way thanks so much campus crusade for Christ it was wonderful..... And then as I'm walking down the hall to class the nice vending machine filler guy is walking past me and gives me some free twinkies....Always a bonus on a day. Then tonight grey's anatomy and ER is on.....And one more thing....We won our volleyball game last night too. Thanks so much for the guys who came with their entire upper torso painted in blue and gold and cheered the whole game last night....You guys are awesome! We have a huge volleyball match with Clark state tomorrow night, so all of you people that don't want to sit outside for a football game should come watch the game tomorrow night because it will be one exciting game.
I have to get ready for class but I just couldn't believe my luck on the free twinkies.....Man what a day!

I look out my window to this........

<------crappy crappy fog! I think that I wouldn't have been so bothered by fog this morning but I really really can't stand it when people are driving without their lights on in dense fog. I just don't understand it. Is there something about driving with your lights on that I just don't know about......like it uses more gas, or wears out your battery, or causes cancer or something. Is it really that hard to filp a switch, push a button or maybe you're special and you're lights come one automatically, but why the heck can't people be considerate and turn their stinking lights on when driving in the fog? And one more thing I didn't like about the fog this morning......I come up over a hill and 8 deer just think it's a good idea to be standing in the middle of the road at 7:55 in the morning. I could have had a life time supply of deer meet if I would have taken out all of them....not to mention a new car in the process. The boyfriend would have been happy but probably jealous because he'll spend all this time hunting this fall and he won't be able to get 8 deer like I would have. But I don't want a new car right now.....I love my car and it will be a sad sad day when she finally leaves me. She's been with me through my first accident, first being pulled over by a cop- total crap story that one is...but that's another day-, probably first trip to dayton to because my first car had the heart of a champion but a body of a 90 year old so she would have never made it. Plus if I would have to get a new car right now that would me that I would have no money or life for a long time because I would be working to pay it off. Ok....I'm stepping down from the soap box now.

This weekend wasn't good, but it wasn't bad.
We had a volleyball tournament in Cleveland this weekend and we won 2 games but lost 3 of them. We should have won more of them but it just didn't work out that way. There were some tough teams there and of course we had to play them right off the bat...but I think we're a tough team too, but it was definatly a learning experience and we now realize what we have to do in tough games to win them. So our record is now 12-4......not too bad but it could be better.
The rest of the weekend was relaxing and I needed that. But I feel tired today and have a lot of things that I need to get finished for this week. Somedays I wish I lived in Alaska so I would have 24 hours of daylight so I could get more things done and not be so tempted to sleep when it's dark outside.

We play at Sinclair on Wednesday....that's an important game for one because it's Sinclair and it's our rival. And two......we need to win conferene games so that we get a better seed going into the national tournament.....that would be really nice and we would get to play on our home court! And then on Saturday we finally have another home game.....those seem to be few and far between....against Miami/Middletown University. I just have a feeling that this is going to be a long week because today, once again, has been painfully long.....so is this blog too huh?!?

Well, I have to go to get ready for volleyball practice at the Piqua Field House because the gym is being set up for the College Fair that's going on Tomorrow. P.S. Everyone should go to the college fair if you're planning on transferring because there is a lot of helpful information there, not to mention a ton of local colleges of interest.
Have a painless rest of the week all!
